Hello Nursery boys and girls (and mummies, daddies and carers!)
We hope you’re all ok! We’ve loved seeing some of the things you’ve been up to on Twitter! Thanks to those of you who have shared!

Nursery: Home Learning Experiences
I would just like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding at this moment in time. I hope that you and your families are all doing well and are safe. Myself and our nursery staff team have attached some fun learning ideas that you can do with your children to make it as enjoyable and promote learning through play. If you need any support or advice please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me via email and I will try to support you as best as possible. I know this is a difficult and an anxious time for you all and these learning experiences will hopefully bring some enjoyment into learning through play at home.
Numeracy and Mathematics/ English and Literacy ideas:
Children can explore letters and number inside messy play. See if your child can identify what letter/ number they have discovered. Instead of using jelly why not try bubbles and water (this might be a fun learning experience to try at bath time with your children) or use shaving foam for the children to explore their senses alongside expanding their numbers and letters.
2. Why not cut up shapes out of paper and spreading them out for children to separate them into shape 
categories such as triangles, rectangles, squares, circles, hexagons, rhombus, ovals etc. You might want to explore measurement/ sizes of different shapes (big circle, medium circle or small circle) or children can explore separating them into different categories of colours for younger children.
3. Children can develop their numeracy and counting skills by rolling a dice and identifying what number the dice landed on. Children can then count out the number of stones, sticks, shells etc. that 
was identified on the dice. To make this more challenging you might want to use more than one dice. If you do not own a dice at home why not create your own one (please see instructions bellow). 
4. Exploring mark making through natural resources. Why not create natural mud paint for your children to explore their senses (ask children “how it feels?”…expand their vocabulary introducing new words such as slimy, gooey, watery, slippery, messy etc.) Children can develop their mark making skills, be creative, use their imagination to write and draw pictures with this mud paint. Why not try painting with it outside in your garden exploring nature at the same time. Just add mud, water and food colouring in a bowl to create it.
5. Children love reading stories, exploring characters in books and singing nursery rhymes.
Please find a list of nursery rhymes that you can create actions with your children at home, explore rhyming words, develop counting skills and clap beats/ rhythm of the nursery rhymes.
